NEG8 Carbon and Prochem Engineering Sign Agreement for Full-Scale DAC System in Ireland
NEG8 Carbon has signed an agreement with Prochem Engineering to develop its first full-scale Direct Air Capture (DAC) system in Ireland, targeting the capture of 50 tonnes of CO2 annually. The project employs electrostatic methods for air capture, with the captured CO2 intended for underground storage or conversion into climate-neutral products. This initiative aims to improve the affordability and scalability of carbon capture technologies for global use.

NEG8 Carbon, based in Waterford, plans to develop its first full-scale Direct Air Capture (DAC) system, designed to capture 50 tonnes of CO2 annually. The project follows an engineering study agreement with Prochem Engineering, which has locations in Kilkenny and Cork.
The DAC technology utilizes electrostatic methods to draw air and capture CO2, which can be stored underground or converted into climate-neutral products. This initiative aims to enhance the affordability and scalability of carbon capture solutions for global deployment.
