Prime Minister Balendra Shah and Chief of Army Staff Ashok Sigdel met at Singha Durbar to discuss contemporary issues, including security concerns following unrest in the Tarai districts. The meeting was characterized as routine coordination, as Shah also oversees the Ministry of Defence.
A dispute involving Kathmandu-3 lawmaker Raju Pandey and army personnel regarding a road expansion in Gokarneshwar was reportedly addressed. Local representatives clashed with military officers over the expansion of a road, with claims of jurisdiction over the area by both parties. Coordination on this matter is ongoing, according to the army spokesperson.
