neQxt, Fraunhofer IAF, and Point 8 Launch snaQCs2025 for Quantum Error Correction Development
The snaQCs2025 project, initiated by neQxt GmbH, Fraunhofer IAF, and Point 8 GmbH, aims to advance quantum error correction methods and quantum algorithms to enhance the practical usability of quantum computers. The project commenced on January 14, 2026, in Cologne, supported by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) with €2.5 million over three years.
The collaboration focuses on developing robust logical qubits to mitigate the error susceptibility of physical qubits, which is crucial for scalable quantum computing. The project seeks to create a comprehensive development pipeline encompassing simulation, realization, and integration of logical qubits, alongside optimization of application-specific quantum algorithms. Each partner contributes expertise in their respective areas, aiming to demonstrate the practical applicability of quantum error correction and fault-tolerant quantum circuits.
