New Cosmos Electric Collaborates on Laser Gas Visualizer for Enhanced Leak Detection
The Laser Gas Visualizer, a new AR-based system developed by New Cosmos Electric and partners, aims to improve gas leak detection efficiency and safety. This tool addresses the challenges of visualizing hazardous gases, which are often invisible to the human eye.

New Cosmos Electric Co., Ltd. has collaborated with ENEOS GLOBE Corporation, Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions Corporation, and NeoRealX Inc. to develop the Laser Gas Visualizer, an augmented reality system for real-time gas leak detection. The technology allows inspectors to visualize gas plumes through AR glasses while wearing a helmet equipped with a laser gas detector.
After completing field trials, the partners plan for practical deployment, initially focusing on methane and potentially extending to other gases like ammonia. This innovation addresses the growing demand for efficient leak detection as the number of experienced technicians declines, enhancing safety protocols in industrial environments.
