Newark and Sherwood District Council will invest over £500,000 in park improvements under its Parks and Open Spaces Development Plan. Plans include a new Multi Use Games Area at Cherry Holt Play Park and BMX pump-tracks at Cedar Avenue and Turner Lane.

Resident feedback is requested before work begins in 2027/2028. Additionally, a £30,000 investment is planned for other parks in 2026/2027, with Clay Lane and Thorpe Oaks/Stirling Drive targeted for development as potential Green Flag parks.

A £100,000 Parks and Open Spaces Legacy Fund will also launch, with match-funding potentially doubling investment to £200,000. Since 2023, total investment in parks will exceed £1.5 million.
