Newark and Sherwood District Council Allocates Over £500,000 for Park Improvements
Newark and Sherwood District Council plans to invest over £500,000 in park improvements as part of its Parks and Open Spaces Development Plan. Proposed enhancements include a Multi Use Games Area at Cherry Holt Play Park and pump-tracks at Cedar Avenue and Turner Lane. The council invites resident feedback on designs before work starts in 2027/2028. Additional initiatives include a £30,000 investment in other parks in 2026/2027 and a £100,000 Legacy Fund for Towns and Parishes, potentially bringing total investments to over £1.5 million since 2023.

Newark and Sherwood District Council will invest over £500,000 in park improvements under its Parks and Open Spaces Development Plan. Plans include a new Multi Use Games Area at Cherry Holt Play Park and BMX pump-tracks at Cedar Avenue and Turner Lane.
Resident feedback is requested before work begins in 2027/2028. Additionally, a £30,000 investment is planned for other parks in 2026/2027, with Clay Lane and Thorpe Oaks/Stirling Drive targeted for development as potential Green Flag parks.
A £100,000 Parks and Open Spaces Legacy Fund will also launch, with match-funding potentially doubling investment to £200,000. Since 2023, total investment in parks will exceed £1.5 million.
