Nidec Mobility Mexico Achieves 86% Automation in Automotive Component Manufacturing
Nidec Mobility Mexico has automated 86% of its production line, producing 50,000 units weekly for Ford. The automotive ecosystem in Guanajuato is expanding as the company develops tailored engineering solutions to optimize manufacturing processes.

Nidec Mobility Mexico reports an 86% automation level in its assembly line, producing 50,000 units weekly for Ford vehicles. The production modules consist of 42 components, with 95% of the parts manufactured in-house.
A new project involves a collaborative robot (Cobot) that assists in handling electronic circuit boards, inspecting parts, and detecting defects, enhancing safety by slowing down when personnel approach. The automation aims to reduce repetitive and physically demanding tasks for workers, rather than replacing them. This initiative solidifies Guanajuato as a key automotive industry hub in Mexico.
