Niger State Government to Launch Carbon Market Office
Niger State is establishing the Niger State Carbon Market Office (NSCMO) to engage in Nigeria's carbon market. This initiative aims to attract climate finance, enhance green investments, and create jobs, positioning the state as a leader in sustainable economic growth.

The Niger State Carbon Market Office (NSCMO) will be established to create access to climate finance and stimulate green investments. Governor Umar Mohammed Bago's administration is focused on implementing policies to address environmental challenges while promoting economic opportunities.
A whole-of-government approach will ensure policy coherence and collaboration among relevant agencies. The Commissioner for Environment will oversee initial technical aspects, while the Ministry of Justice will handle legal responsibilities.
