NITI Aayog Unveils DPI 2.0 Framework to Boost MSME and Agriculture Growth
NITI Aayog's DPI 2.0 framework aims to transform India's economy by addressing structural constraints in MSMEs and agriculture. The initiative focuses on state-led pilots and global collaboration to enhance economic resilience and productivity.

On April 27, NITI Aayog introduced the DPI 2.0 framework to advance India's economic growth through eight targeted sector transformations. These include enhancing MSME market access, improving livelihoods for smallholder farmers, and expanding access to credit.
The initial phase (2026-2027) emphasizes three transformations in six states/UTs, expanding to five additional states in the second year. The report highlights the necessity of integrating advanced technologies like AI and Quantum Computing into public services.
Achieving Viksit Bharat by 2047 is deemed a strategic imperative requiring swift actions to generate inclusive growth. India's DPI journey began with Aadhaar, which significantly increased financial inclusion and mobile access.
