This marks only the third time in 52 years the council has implemented a tax freeze. The budget allocates £2m for community projects, £100,000 for flood prevention, and £700,000 for homelessness support. Additionally, it commits £27m to rebuild a leisure center and funds for street cleaning and local facilities.

North Warwickshire Borough Council has confirmed a freeze on its share of council tax for the 2026-27 financial year, marking only the third instance in its 52-year history. The council's budget includes a £2m fund for community facilities and transformation projects, £10,000 for enabling parish councils to fly the national flag, and £100,000 for flood prevention initiatives.
There is also a £700,000 allocation for reducing homelessness. The budget commits £27m to rebuild a leisure center in Atherstone, £300,000 for three new pump tracks, and £250,000 for street cleaning in local towns and villages.
