The Nova Scotia Salmon Association (NSSA) announced a major advancement in climate action with RBC's purchase of carbon removal credits generated through NSSA's lime dosing operations on the West River in Sheet Harbour. This initiative, in partnership with CarbonRun, improves river alkalinity and supports the recovery of fish populations affected by acid rain.

NSSA has operated lime dosing systems since 2005, and RBC's investment aids operational costs and establishes a model for funding ongoing watershed restoration. The West River project is recognized as a significant ecological and climate solution in North America.
