NSWC IHEODTD Signs Partnerships with Puerto Rican Universities for Student Development
NSWC IHEODTD has established three-year Educational Partnership Agreements with two universities in Puerto Rico to enhance student engagement in defense-related projects. These partnerships aim to foster academic growth, career development, and future employment within the Department of Defense.

Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NSWC IHEODTD) signed Educational Partnership Agreements with University of Puerto Rico - Mayaguez Campus on October 29 and Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico on October 30. The partnerships will last three years, focusing on providing academic guidance, relevant research projects for the U.S.
Navy, and developing future Department of Defense personnel. Past projects included military helmet designs and explosive device studies, resulting in the hiring of 24 students from previous collaborations, with 19 still employed. These agreements may enhance workforce capabilities and foster innovative solutions within the Navy.
