NTT and JAXA Launch Satellite MIMO Technology for IoT
NTT has initiated a new satellite IoT platform utilizing MIMO technology, targeting LPWA services. This project, in collaboration with JAXA, leverages a LEO satellite launched in December 2025 to enhance connectivity for multiple data devices.

Operations for a satellite IoT platform utilizing MIMO technology have begun, focusing on low-power wide-area (LPWA) services. NTT is collaborating with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) for this initiative, which employs a low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite launched in December 2025.
On-orbit demonstration experiments are underway, with initial results expected to be presented at the Tsukuba Forum in late May. This development could significantly impact connectivity solutions for IoT devices, potentially enhancing data transmission capabilities in various sectors.
