Nu Quantum Secures $60 Million Series A to Advance Quantum Networking Technology in the UK
Cambridge-based quantum startup Nu Quantum has raised $60 million in a Series A funding round, the largest of its kind for a pure-play quantum networking company in the UK. Led by National Grid Partners, the investment will advance the development of photonic quantum networking hardware, addressing scalability challenges in quantum computing. This significant funding reflects growing investor confidence in female-led ventures within capital-intensive sectors.

Cambridge-based quantum startup Nu Quantum, led by Dr. Carmen Palacios-Berraquero, has raised $60 million in December 2025, marking one of the largest Series A rounds in UK deep tech. The funding aims to develop photonic quantum networking hardware essential for scaling quantum computing.
This round is notable as it is the largest financing for a pure-play quantum networking company and the largest quantum Series A in the UK to date. The round was led by National Grid Partners with participation from Gresham House Ventures and Morpheus Ventures.
The significant investment indicates a shift in investor confidence towards female-led ventures in capital-intensive sectors. Nu Quantum, founded in 2018, focuses on addressing scalability challenges in quantum computing by linking separate systems into distributed architectures.
