Nuada and MLC to Deploy Carbon Capture Technology at Singleton Birch Lime Facility in the UK
Nuada and MLC have partnered to implement a demonstration carbon capture unit at MLC's Singleton Birch lime facility in North Lincolnshire, aiming to establish a scalable method for achieving net zero lime production. This initiative will generate performance data to guide future carbon capture efforts across MLC's operations, as the company targets carbon neutrality by 2050 amid challenges posed by unavoidable emissions from the calcination of limestone. Nuada's technology, based on Nobel Prize-winning research, is tailored for industrial use, featuring lower energy demands and a compact design.

Nuada and MLC have signed an agreement to deploy a demonstration carbon capture unit at MLC's Singleton Birch site in North Lincolnshire. This project aims to validate a scalable pathway to net zero lime production by addressing emissions from the calcination of limestone.
The deployment will generate performance data to inform future large-scale carbon capture initiatives across MLC's operations, promoting economically viable decarbonization in the lime production sector. Nuada's technology, based on Nobel Prize-winning science, is designed for industrial environments and offers lower energy demand with a compact design. MLC aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, recognizing that a significant portion of carbon emissions from lime manufacturing are unavoidable due to the calcination process, thus highlighting the potential of carbon sequestration technology.
