OAL has secured £5 million from Innovate UK to deploy 1,000 fenceless robotics systems, creating over 100 jobs in engineering and technology. This initiative aims to address labor shortages in food manufacturing and enhance productivity.
OAL, a robotics and automation firm, will deploy 1,000 fenceless robotics systems in UK factories over the next five years, funded by £5 million from Innovate UK. This project is set to create more than 100 roles in engineering, software development, and technical sales, alongside launching an apprenticeship program at OAL's headquarters.
The robots will perform repetitive tasks such as pick and place handling, addressing the over 100,000 job vacancies in manufacturing. The initiative aims to ease labor challenges while maintaining competitive advantages for manufacturers through increased automation.
