Ohio Approves $4.5 Million Tax Credit for Data Center Expansion in Akron and Independence
The State of Ohio has approved a $4.5 million tax credit for ark data centers to expand in Akron and Independence, creating 10 jobs and a $136 million investment. The tax break, which spans 10 years, requires ark to maintain operations at both sites for at least 13 years and to fulfill hiring and investment commitments by the end of 2028.

Ohio has granted ark data centers a $4.5 million tax credit to support its expansion in Akron and Independence. The 10-year tax break, approved by the Ohio Tax Credit Authority, is contingent upon ark adding 10 jobs with an annual payroll of $1.1 million and investing $136 million across both locations.
This expansion will retain 27 existing jobs. The company must maintain operations at the sites for 13 years, with all hiring and investment completed by the end of 2028. Ohio competed with Illinois and Indiana for this project.
