Okemo Mountain Resort Enhances Snowmaking Infrastructure for Sustainability
Okemo Mountain Resort is upgrading its snowmaking system to improve snow quality and energy efficiency. The investment will significantly reduce diesel fuel consumption and enhance operational capabilities.

Vail Resorts is making substantial upgrades to Okemo Mountain Resort's snowmaking infrastructure, aiming to enhance snow quality and sustainability. The new system allows for snow production in temperatures up to 28 degrees, improving efficiency and increasing snowmaking opportunities.
Replacing 15 diesel compressors with two electric ones is projected to cut diesel consumption by approximately 250,000 gallons annually. Additionally, nine variable frequency drive motors will optimize pump station operations.
Vail Resorts is also launching a guest experience enhancement initiative that includes new app features and improvements in service delivery. This investment signifies the company's commitment to operational excellence and guest satisfaction across its resorts.
