Oklahoma and Hitachi Forge Partnership to Enhance Power Grid Resilience
Oklahoma's agreement with Hitachi focuses on enhancing the state's power grid amid rising AI demands. The collaboration aims to attract global investment while promoting sustainable technology.

Oklahoma's Governor Kevin Stitt and Hitachi America CEO Yasuhiro Takeuchi signed a Memorandum of Cooperation at the SelectUSA summit. This agreement emphasizes digital transformation and aims to enhance Hitachi's manufacturing capabilities in Norman, where the company has operated since 1987.
Recent investments include a $4 million upgrade in machinery, supported by the state’s Business Expansion Incentive Program. Hitachi also launched 800-kilovolt SF6-free circuit breakers in Chicago, addressing environmental concerns in electrical infrastructure.
As AI data centers increase demand on the grid, this partnership may position Oklahoma as a leader in sustainable energy solutions. The evolution of Hitachi's facility could be pivotal for both local employment and technological advancement.
