OKU Automation GmbH Faces Bankruptcy After Previous Rescue
German machinery manufacturer OKU Automation GmbH has entered insolvency proceedings again as of June 1, 2026. The company's financial struggles reflect broader industry challenges including rising costs and declining orders.

OKU Automation GmbH, located in Winterbach, has been placed into regular insolvency proceedings on June 1, 2026, following the expiration of the insolvency wage phase. Approximately 90 employees were informed of the situation, with their salaries covered during a preliminary phase.
The appointed insolvency administrator, Volker von Danckelmann, plans to assess the company's financial health and production capabilities. The machinery sector is currently under pressure due to increased competition and reduced order volumes, raising concerns about the feasibility of a second rescue.
