On Running has inaugurated a robot factory in Busan, South Korea, with 32 robots designed for running shoe production, capable of manufacturing 1,000 pairs daily. This facility improves upon the company’s initial factory in Zurich, which had only four robots.

The expansion is part of On's strategy to mitigate supply chain disruptions and tariff costs linked to imports from Vietnam and China. The brand is also planning to establish additional robot factories in the U.S. and Europe. Automation is expected to enhance manufacturing speed and sustainability, addressing the industry's challenges amid rising tariffs and labor cost pressures.
