Opendoor Acquires Doma to Enhance Digital Real Estate Operations
Opendoor Technologies has acquired Doma's closing and escrow business to bolster its digital real estate platform. This acquisition aims to streamline the closing process and enhance refinancing efficiency, although risks from a volatile housing market persist.

Opendoor Technologies has acquired Doma's closing and escrow operations, integrating title automation and 85 employees into its platform to improve real estate transactions. This move is designed to accelerate closings and reduce refinancing costs by leveraging machine learning and AI technologies.
However, despite these advancements, Opendoor's exposure to market volatility and ongoing financial losses remain significant risks. Analysts forecast revenue of $4.7 billion and earnings of $239.7 million by 2028, while more optimistic projections suggest up to $8.2 billion in revenue. This strategic shift could impact Opendoor's capacity to generate higher-margin revenue streams, but the balance sheet risks warrant caution among investors.
