PA American Water Initiates $23M Upgrade of Exeter Wastewater Treatment Facility
Pennsylvania American Water has launched a $23 million upgrade project for the Exeter Township wastewater treatment facility to enhance environmental protection. This initiative follows the company's acquisition of the system in 2018 for $93.5 million and aims to prevent contamination in local waterways.

Pennsylvania American Water commenced a $23 million enhancement project for the Exeter Township wastewater treatment plant. Key improvements include the addition of new equalization tanks and the removal of outdated infrastructure, aimed at better managing wastewater during peak flow periods.
The equalization tanks, designed with a 3 million-gallon capacity, are expected to be operational by late 2027. Since acquiring the wastewater system in 2018, the company has invested over $33 million in improvements, following a significant spill incident that raised regulatory concerns. This project is crucial for maintaining compliance with environmental standards and protecting local water bodies.
