Panaji Corporation Implements Submersible Pump to Mitigate Miramar Flooding Ahead of Monsoon
The Corporation of the City of Panaji is deploying a submersible pump to address waterlogging in Miramar. This initiative, along with drain clearance, is critical to managing flooding issues before the monsoon season.
The Corporation of the City of Panaji is set to deploy a submersible pump to mitigate waterlogging near Stella Maris Church in Miramar. Preparations include clearing the main drain along D B Road, which had significant silt accumulation.
The corporation has also purchased a pump for a local resident to aid in water removal and activated emergency teams for response during the monsoon. Additionally, tenders have been issued to enhance the drainage network in two key areas.
Challenges remain in the Patto area, prompting discussions with the Economic Development Corporation for a dedicated pumping station. Adjustments have also been made to the drainage flow in St Mary's colony.
