Pegler Brothers & Co. Established Doncaster as a Leader in Plumbing Products
Founded by Frank Pegler and Fred Birchall, Pegler Brothers & Co. became a significant player in the plumbing industry. Starting in 1899 in Doncaster, it expanded operations and workforce, producing brass fittings and valves. The company contributed to military efforts during both World Wars and evolved its production to include plastic components. Acquiring various companies, Pegler became known worldwide, with sales to over 100 countries. Aalberts Industries announced the closure of the Belmont works in 2024, with the site now for sale.
