Perry Township Approves 30-Year Tax Abatement for New Data Center
Perry Township trustees approved a 30-year, 75% property tax abatement for a planned data center on March 24, 2026. The agreement includes a $2.75 million upfront payment to the township, which is subject to Stark County commissioners' approval. Many residents oppose the project due to concerns over noise and pollution. The development, led by Panattoni Development Co., will consist of four buildings and is expected to create approximately 670 construction jobs.

Perry Township trustees approved a 75% property tax abatement for a planned data center on March 24, 2026, which will provide the township with $2.75 million upfront. The 30-year abatement is now set for consideration by Stark County commissioners.
The data center will occupy 100 acres and consists of two 218,000-square-foot buildings and two 160,000-square-foot buildings, with a completion target in 2027. The project is expected to create about 670 construction jobs. However, it has faced opposition from residents concerned about noise and pollution, with over 3,100 signatures on a petition against it.
