Petal Secures $2.25M Funding for Wastewater Infrastructure Improvements

Funding sources include $1.75 million from U.S. Congressman Mike Ezell and $500,000 from state representative Larry Byrd. The city currently pumps nearly one million gallons of wastewater monthly to Hattiesburg and aims to enhance efficiency and prevent overflow. The project may take several years to initiate as the city seeks an additional $3 million in funding.
