PIDG Commits €4.3M to Afreenergy Solar for Clean Energy Development in Senegal
The Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG) has invested EUR 4.3 million in Afreenergy Solar to enhance access to clean energy for commercial and industrial customers in Senegal. The initiative aims to deliver 30MW of solar energy and 10MWh of battery storage in two phases, targeting energy-intensive sectors. This aligns with Senegal's goal of achieving 40% renewable energy by 2030 under the Just Energy Transition Partnership with G7 nations.

PIDG has committed EUR 4.3 million to Afreenergy Solar to support clean energy solutions for commercial and industrial clients in Senegal, with plans for expansion into West and Central Africa. The project will provide 30MW of solar energy and 10MWh of battery energy storage, targeting sectors like agro-industry and logistics.
The initiative aims to reduce energy costs for clients by up to 30% compared to the national grid. This investment supports Senegal's renewable energy target of 40% by 2030 and is expected to attract further private investment in the region.
