Pipe Delivery Initiates Lake Albert Pipeline Project in Wagga Wagga
Key components for the Lake Albert Pipeline and Precinct Renewal Project have begun arriving in Wagga Wagga, with the first pipes delivered on February 27, 2026. A total of 250 x 12-meter and 172 x 20-meter pipes will be sourced from Iplex in Albury. The $9 million project aims to improve water quality and levels in Lake Albert by connecting it to the Murrumbidgee River, allowing the pumping of up to 1800 megalitres of water annually. Construction is expected to commence once approvals and contracts are finalized.

The Lake Albert Pipeline and Precinct Renewal Project in Wagga Wagga has progressed with the delivery of 12-meter and 20-meter pipes, with 250 and 172 pipes respectively sourced from Iplex in Albury. The $9 million project aims to enhance water quality and levels in Lake Albert by constructing a 6.5-kilometer pipeline to the Murrumbidgee River.
Construction will begin once approvals and contracts are secured. This project will enable the annual pumping of 1800 megalitres of water and includes the replacement of an ageing weir to control lake outflows. Funding is provided by the Australian Government’s Growing Regions Program.
