Port Washington has been allocated $2.2 million in federal funding for critical sewer and water infrastructure upgrades. U.S. Rep.
Tom Suozzi facilitated the funding, which includes $1.092 million for the Village of Manorhaven to replace a nearly 70-year-old sewer pipe and an equal amount for the Port Washington Water Pollution Control District to upgrade two pump stations over 60 years old. Local officials highlighted that these improvements will enhance water quality in Manhasset Bay and reduce the financial burden on residents. The funding is part of a broader $12.35 million federal appropriations package for various projects across Long Island and Queens.
