Premier Tech and Lepage Millwork Receive $4.65 Million in Grants for Forestry Projects

Premier Tech and Lepage Millwork have secured a total of $4.65 million in grants to advance forestry-related projects in Bas-Saint-Laurent. Premier Tech will receive $2.5 million to establish a demonstration plant focused on utilizing wood fiber as a sustainable resource for agricultural applications, with an eye toward commercial production.
Lepage Millwork is allocated $2.1 million for a new production line integrating aluminum into engineered wood components, aimed at launching two new products and maintaining current employment levels. These initiatives fall under the Innovation Bois program, which supports modernization and automation in the forestry industry. The financial assistance is expected to enhance operational efficiency and address the growing demand for sustainable resources.
