Prologis Invests in On-Site Solar and Expands into Clean Energy Technologies
Prologis is enhancing its solar rooftop investments, aiming for an 11% return while expanding into geothermal and fuel cell technologies. Currently generating over 1 gigawatt from solar, the company plans to further develop energy services amid new European regulations mandating solar installations for commercial buildings by 2026. Prologis targets flexibility and emissions reduction for its clients, with solar covering 6% of its rooftops across 18 markets.

Prologis generates over 1 gigawatt of electricity from on-site solar panels, installed since two decades ago to reduce emissions. The company aims for an 11% return on solar investments and plans to branch into other clean power technologies like geothermal projects in France and fuel cells in California.
Starting in 2026, European regulations require solar installations for new commercial facilities over 2,700 square feet. Prologis targets clients interested in flexible power capacity and emissions reduction, with solar covering about 6% of its rooftops across 18 markets, excluding Canada and India where market conditions vary.
