Protect Earth Launches Warleigh Nature Reserve Rewilding Project in Bath
Protect Earth has acquired an 81-acre site in Bath, named Warleigh Nature Reserve, to enhance biodiversity, carbon sequestration, and water quality. The project aims to create woodlands and wetlands and restore grassland, also addressing flooding issues. Funded through a £90,000 Crowdfunder and additional donations, the reserve will support existing beaver populations and improve their habitat. Community volunteers are involved in restoration efforts, and further fundraising is needed to continue development.

Protect Earth has launched Warleigh Nature Reserve, an 81-acre rewilding project in Bath, with a focus on improving biodiversity, carbon sequestration, and water quality while reducing flooding. The site was purchased using £90,000 raised through Crowdfunder, with additional funding from donations.
Plans include creating woodlands, wetlands, and restoring grassland, as well as supporting beaver populations already present on the land. Community volunteers have been engaged in cleanup and restoration activities, including the reopening of access paths. Ongoing efforts will involve ecological surveys, habitat improvement, and further fundraising to secure £50,000 for continued development.
