Provision Launches AI Scope Extraction Tool, Outperforms Anthropic's Claude
Provision has introduced Scope Agent, an AI tool for construction scope extraction, achieving 91.7% accuracy, outperforming Claude's 72.9%. This launch addresses the increasing demand for efficiency in the construction sector, particularly as contractor revenues rise without a corresponding increase in workforce capacity.

Provision's new tool, Scope Agent, claims 91.7% accuracy in scope extraction, surpassing Anthropic's Claude, which achieved 72.9%. The tool is reported to have been used by major contractors in Canada, such as EllisDon, and has halved the time from contract award to subcontract issuance for U.S.-based ProWest Constructors.
The construction industry faces a labor shortage, with an estimated need for 349,000 new workers in 2026. The increasing reliance on AI tools like Scope Agent indicates a shift towards automation, which may alleviate some pressure on overstretched estimating teams. This trend is likely to continue as contractors adapt to rising workloads and higher revenue demands.
