PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Highlights Oil and Gas Role in Indonesia's Energy Transition

CARBON CAPTURE

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) emphasizes the ongoing importance of oil and gas (migas) in supporting Indonesia's energy resilience amid the transition to low-carbon energy. Director Bayu Kusuma Dewanto stated that rising domestic energy demands necessitate continued reliance on migas, which also generates cash flow for sustainable investments in production and low-carbon business development.

PHE faces production challenges due to natural decline and is implementing programs like drilling, Enhanced Oil Recovery, and exploration to maintain national production levels. PHE also highlights its commitment to energy transition through environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, including Carbon Capture, Storage, and Utilization (CCS/CCUS) efforts with a potential capacity of 7.3 Giga Tons across 11 priority sites. The company enforces a Zero Tolerance on Bribery policy to ensure clean business practices.
