Puro.earth Submits CRCF Program Application to EU for Carbon Credit Compliance
Puro.earth has applied to the European Commission for its CRCF Program to streamline compliance-ready carbon credits. This initiative addresses market fragmentation and supports European project developers in issuing recognized CRCF Certified Units, facilitating compliance for international buyers.

Puro.earth has formally submitted an application to the European Commission for its CRCF Program, designed to align voluntary carbon removal with EU statutory requirements. This initiative seeks to create a unified pathway for issuing compliance-ready carbon removal certificates, specifically targeting the fragmented carbon dioxide removal (CDR) market in Europe.
The program builds on existing frameworks, including the Puro Standard and CCS+ Program, to help project developers issue CRCF Certified Units. Adjustments to the Puro Standard and the initiation of the Validation and Verification Body accreditation process in Finland are part of the strategy to meet EU requirements. This move positions Puro.earth to facilitate smoother compliance for international firms operating in Europe, potentially reducing procurement complexities as regulatory demands evolve.
