Three growers from Queensland have been named among the five finalists for the 2026 Australian Cotton Grower of the Year award. Finalists include Lucas Wuersching, who utilizes automation and innovative irrigation systems on his 1000-hectare farm; the Brimblecombe family, managing a seasonal rotation of cotton and vegetables; and Rhys Herbert and Trish Carroll from Pastoral Properties.
The winners will be announced at the Australian Cotton Industry Awards Dinner on August 6 on the Gold Coast, coinciding with the 2026 Australian Cotton Conference. The focus on innovation, sustainable practices, and team culture among these finalists may influence industry standards and practices moving forward.
