Queensland Peart Family Receives 30,145 Carbon Credits for Soil Management Projects

CARBON CAPTURE

The Peart family in Queensland has received the largest issuance of soil carbon credits since 2023, totaling 30,145 Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) for their Jones and Blewitt carbon projects. These projects, covering 4,800 hectares across two properties in the Injune district, were registered at the start of 2023 in partnership with developer AgriProve.

The projects employ different strategies: at Sunnyholt, the focus is on deep-rooted legumes and precision grazing, while Tullumun emphasizes rotational grazing enhancements. The Peart family plans to sell the ACCUs and has engaged with a carbon trader. AgriProve's general manager noted that the issuance reflects effective management practices that have led to measurable improvements in soil carbon levels.
