RenewCred Secures ₹4.15 Crore Seed Funding for India's First Digital Carbon Credit Standard

CARBON CAPTURE

RenewCred, a climate-technology company based in India, has closed a seed funding round of ₹4.15 crore to establish a digital carbon credit standard and registry for the voluntary carbon market. The funding round was led by Campus Angels Network, with participation from multiple investors including Kairos Early Opportunity Fund and ACT Capital Foundation.

Founded by Abhimanyu Rathi and a leadership team focused on high-integrity carbon credits, RenewCred aims to remove 2.0 gigatons of greenhouse gas emissions over the next 14 years. The company plans to issue its first carbon credits this quarter, addressing structural issues in carbon markets such as lack of trust and slow verification processes. RenewCred focuses on non-nature-based methodologies and aims to create a credible infrastructure for carbon credits in India.
