Saipem Implements AI Predictive Maintenance on Drillships
Saipem is testing AI-driven predictive maintenance systems on its drillships to enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime. The technology, developed with ADC Energy, aims to predict failures and optimize maintenance scheduling across the fleet.

Saipem has initiated a pilot project for predictive maintenance on the Saipem 12000 drillship, utilizing real-time data and AI algorithms to forecast equipment issues. The project, developed with ADC Energy, marks the beginning of a broader initiative to implement AI across Saipem's fleet.
A similar system is being deployed on the Saipem 7000 semi-submersible crane vessel, focusing on its diesel generators to ensure power production reliability. This system, developed with BIP, integrates IoT sensors and machine learning to facilitate proactive maintenance planning. The advancements are expected to enhance safety and operational continuity in offshore energy operations.
