Saipem has implemented a predictive maintenance system on its ultra-deepwater drillship Saipem 12000 to enhance operational efficiency and safety. The AI-based system employs real-time data to monitor equipment performance, predict failures, and schedule maintenance before issues arise, thus aiming to reduce downtime and costs.

This initiative, developed with ADC Energy, is the first in Saipem's fleet and part of a broader digital transformation strategy. Concurrently, a predictive maintenance program is being tested on the Saipem 7000, focusing on diesel generators and utilizing IoT and machine learning for early malfunction detection. Both projects highlight Saipem's commitment to integrating advanced technologies into offshore operations.
