Saipem Secures Urea Technology License for Mitsubishi's Fertilizer Plant in Turkmenistan
Saipem has signed a Urea License Agreement with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd for a new fertilizer plant in Turkmenistan, utilizing Saipem's Snamprogetti™ Urea technology. The plant will produce 3,500 tonnes of urea per day and follows a previous project in Garabogaz, commissioned in 2018. This contract enhances Saipem's position in the fertilizer sector and reflects ongoing collaboration with MHI, including a recent General License Agreement for carbon capture technologies.

Saipem has been awarded a Urea License Agreement by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd for a fertilizer plant in Turkmenistan, featuring Saipem's Snamprogetti™ Urea technology. The facility will have a production capacity of 3,500 tonnes per day, designed for high efficiency and safety.
This project builds on the previous Garabogazkarbamid plant, developed with MHI's involvement in 2018. The contract reinforces Saipem's leadership in the fertilizer market and is part of a broader collaboration with MHI, which includes a recent agreement for carbon capture technologies.
