Salad Days Expands Hydroponic Lettuce Production in Mississippi
Salad Days has launched a 68,000 sq. ft. greenhouse in Flora, Mississippi, enhancing hydroponic lettuce output to three million heads annually. The facility employs advanced automation to improve production efficiency and regional distribution, targeting major retailers like Kroger.

Salad Days has opened a new 68,000 sq. ft. controlled-environment agriculture greenhouse, significantly increasing its hydroponic lettuce production capacity. The facility is equipped with Prospiant greenhouse systems and FGM moving gutter automation to produce up to three million heads of lettuce annually for distribution in the southeastern United States.
Automation plays a critical role in enhancing operational efficiency, with recent implementations improving output sevenfold within the same space. The company aims to strengthen its regional presence, focusing on local distribution to minimize transport time for perishable products. Salad Days is also addressing financing challenges and evaluating additional lettuce varieties to further expand operations.
