Seabound Completes First Full-Scale Maritime Carbon Capture Units, Secures €1.5M ESA Funding in Doncaster

Seabound, a UK-based marine carbon capture leader, completed its first full-scale carbon capture systems at its Doncaster facility on February 3, 2026. The systems will be deployed on the UBC Cork vessel, a 5,700 GT cement carrier.

Seabound announced a €1.5 million partnership with the European Space Agency to support scale-up and commercial deployments, alongside a collaboration with thyssenkrupp Polysius for green lime production. The event, attended by over 70 stakeholders, highlighted Seabound's transition from pilot projects to commercial deployment.
