Severstal Commences Commissioning of $1.48 Billion Iron Ore Pellet Plant
Severstal has initiated the commissioning of its $1.48 billion iron ore pellet plant, with production set to begin in Q3 2026. The project aims to enhance the company's environmental and operational performance while creating over 350 jobs.

Severstal has started the commissioning phase for its new iron ore pellet plant, with the first indurating machine undergoing hot testing and initial production anticipated in the third quarter of 2026. This RUB 116 billion investment will lead to the gradual decommissioning of four sintering machines and two coke oven batteries upon reaching design capacity.
Commissioning involves trials of individual equipment, system testing, and the startup of auxiliary facilities such as pumping and ventilation systems. Participation includes 47 companies from the Vologda region. This project is significant for Severstal's operational efficiency and environmental goals, impacting the company's production strategy in the long term.
