ShareChat Founders Launch General Autonomy: Focus on Robotics
Farid Ahsan and Bhanu Pratap Singh have transitioned from social media to robotics with General Autonomy, aiming to capitalize on India's automation needs. Their flagship product, PARAM, a robot dog, showcases the potential for localized manufacturing in the robotics sector.

General Autonomy, founded by former ShareChat executives in early 2023, is focused on developing robotics for factories. The company’s notable product, PARAM, an Indian-made robot dog, was presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
General Autonomy is currently in the pre-revenue phase, having raised Rs 32 crore in May 2026, bringing its valuation to Rs 280 crore. The Indian humanoid robotics market is projected to reach $149 million by 2030, indicating significant growth potential.
The company competes with firms like Addverb and Invento Robotics, targeting automation in manufacturing as e-commerce increases. Investment in robotics may face challenges due to the nascent supply chain in India.
