Shellfish Ireland Invests €500,000 to Expand Seafood Product Range and Market Presence
Shellfish Ireland has completed a €500,000 investment to expand its seafood product offerings and market reach. The investment, supported by a €236,000 grant from the Seafood Processing Capital Investment Scheme, aims to boost annual sales exceeding €14 million and restore pre-Covid profitability. The company plans to strengthen its European markets and re-enter the Asian market, particularly China. Shellfish Ireland, founded in 1987, operates from a state-of-the-art processing facility in Castletownbere, employing over 160 fishermen.
