Shropshire Council's AWEE Team Wins National Award for Energy Efficiency Project
Shropshire Council's Affordable Warmth and Energy Efficiency Team received the National Insulation & Fabric Project of the Year award at the Energy Efficiency Awards 2025 for their work on a historic home in Bishop's Castle. The project, part of the Home Upgrade Grant Phase 2 scheme, involved complex energy efficiency improvements that reduced fuel poverty and carbon emissions while preserving the home's character. Collaborating with CT ECO Plus and SWIP LTD, the team implemented various energy-saving measures, leading to significant improvements in comfort and satisfaction for the resident.

The Affordable Warmth and Energy Efficiency (AWEE) Team at Shropshire Council won the National Insulation & Fabric Project of the Year award at the Energy Efficiency Awards 2025. Recognized for their work on a historic home in Bishop's Castle, the project was part of the Government-funded Home Upgrade Grant Phase 2 scheme.
The team collaborated with retrofit partners CT ECO Plus and SWIP LTD to implement energy efficiency measures, including internal wall insulation and a low carbon air-source heat pump. Post-installation feedback indicated improved comfort for the resident. The project demonstrated successful management of technical challenges while adhering to PAS standards.
