Siemens to Automate Karlsruhe Warehouse with Knapp's Aerobot System by 2026
Siemens is set to enhance automation at its Karlsruhe warehouse with Knapp's Aerobot system, scheduled for commissioning in 2026. This makes Siemens one of the first companies in Germany to implement this innovative 3D warehouse system, which will feature approximately 30,000 storage locations across 27 levels, managed by 21 autonomous Aerobots capable of 280 operations per hour. The system will integrate with Siemens' SAP-EWM through Kisoft One software, improving logistics efficiency and material flow.

Siemens will implement Knapp's Aerobot system at its Karlsruhe site, increasing warehouse automation and optimizing logistics processes by 2026. The system includes around 30,000 storage locations over 27 levels, utilizing 21 Aerobots for up to 280 operations per hour.
The Aerobots will navigate the warehouse autonomously, connecting with existing logistics systems. The Kisoft One software will manage the Aerobot system and integrate with Siemens' SAP-EWM. The project builds on the existing partnership between Siemens and Knapp, which has already seen the deployment of autonomous mobile robots, increasing from three to six units.
