Silicate Carbon, a Dublin-based agritech company founded in 2021, aims to raise up to €15 million in its upcoming funding round in Q2 2026. The company, which operates from NovaUCD and has six staff, has previously secured $1.5 million (€1.3 million).
Silicate Carbon enhances soil acidity management by using limestone for carbon capture, providing a dual benefit of improving soil pH while sequestering carbon dioxide. Unlike traditional methods that use basalt, Silicate Carbon's approach utilizes limestone due to its faster dissolution rate. The company, supported by Enterprise Ireland, is now focused on commercial pilots in agriculture to bring its research to market after successful initial trials that began in 2021.
