Smartenergy and ABB have formed a strategic partnership to scale renewable energy and hydrogen projects in Southern Europe. The collaboration will integrate project development, financing expertise, and ABB's leadership in electrification and automation to establish bankable energy infrastructures.

The initial focus will be on a pipeline of solar and renewable-to-hydrogen projects, along with sustainable aviation fuel (eSAF) initiatives in Spain and Portugal, with an estimated budget of €4-5 billion. The partnership aims to optimize efficiency and resilience through joint planning and advanced technologies, addressing the evolving energy ecosystem.
